Aloha Valued Patients and Friends,

As dental healthcare professionals, infection control procedures, such as disinfection and sterilization, have been in our wheelhouse for a long time. From HIV to MRSA, tuberculosis, and influenza, and now coronavirus, protecting our patients, our staff, and our families has always been and continues to be our utmost concern.

Even with our excellent standard universal precautions and infection control procedures, we are taking extra care during this time.  Here are some of the things we do.  We hope sharing our precautions with you will let you know that we are here to answer any questions you may have about your own disinfecting home products and techniques for staying healthy now and put you at ease about coming to Kalaheo Dental Group should treatment be necessary:

  • Our staff is highly trained in infection control. We undergo regular mandatory training, and our products and techniques exceed industry standards for safety.
  • In addition to our standard universal precautions for infection control, we have increased disinfecting rounds throughout our office in both patient care and reception areas, and we have added even more hand sanitizing stations.
  • We have posted a precautionary protocol statement outside our office and share this verbally before patients come in for an appointment. This substantially lowers the risk for Coronavirus.
  • We're instituted protocols to minimize your contact with others in the office.
  • Please note that while delaying elective procedures may be prudent at this time, there is RISK in delaying dental treatment for more urgent conditions. Cavities, cracks, gum disease, etc., can and do get worse and often result in emergencies. Avoid the ER and call us right away for treatment if you have any dental ailments.
  • Of course, we are waiving last-minute cancellation fees.
  • Our current array of disinfectants and sterilization techniques, from wipes to sprays to steam autoclaves, are scientifically proven to KILL the nastiest of pathogens.

In addition to Coronavirus, our protocols kill:
